He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Aaron Theodore Samuel and Baby Rachel Samuel (Manickam); and his sisters, Florence Jesudasan and Grace Samuel. He is survived by: his children, Anita McGill (John), Asha Vedanandan (Veda Jayarajan), Priya Samuel Rupik and Dr. Aaron Theodore Samuel (Cheryl Miller-Samuel); his grandchildren, Rachel Kanchana McGill, Jaya Joan McGill, Aaron Isaac McGill, Andrew Rupik, Samuel Rupik and Nikhil Vedanandan; and his sister Mercy Samuel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
