He was predeceased by: his father Charlie Chappell; his siblings, Nina, Dorothy, Charles Chappell (Helen), Frank Chappell, Virginia Maharg (Don), Mary Carpenter (John), Clara Carnett and Ruth Beyer (Art); and his grandson Jeremy Chappell.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Chappell (McConaughy); his children, Karen Chappell, David Chappell and James Chappell (Chris); his grandchildren, Stephanie Chappell, Jennifer Chappell and Jami Chappell (Rich Willman); his great grandchildren, Adalynn, Brynne', Everley, Dustin and Lacey; his brother George Chappell (Arlene); and his sister-in-law Judy Chappell. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's or Samaratin's Purse.
