He was predeceased by: his parents, John Delbert Groves and Geraldine Francis Groves Brown (Moore); his brothers, Nattie Groves and Rodger Groves; and his stepsiblings, Larry Brown, Evelyn Ward and Ruth Ann Lucas.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Ann Groves; his children, Cherie Covert (Jason) and Tim Groves (Lawana Campbell); his grandson Ivan Covert; and his sisters-in-law, Edna Groves and Lois Groves. He is also survived by several nephews and a niece.
