He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Russell and Gerturde May Burghy (Elrick); his wife Gladys Burghy; his son Thomas J. Burghy; his granddaughter Kersten Fuchs; his great grandchildren, Lelend and Lynnleigh Bunfill; and his brothers, Clarence Burghy and Charles Burghy.

He is survived by: his children, Karen Mahoney, Melissa Gibson (Steve), Crystal Maffitt (Pete), Chuckie Burghy, Tina Lucas (Tim) and Penny Diloreto; his grandchildren, J. D., Cory, Amanda, Mason, Ashley, Paige, Samantha, Shane, Shawn, Jason and Jacob; and his sisters, Rose Burghy and Sarah Lou Lynson. He is also survived by twenty-seven great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren.
