She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Stratton and Adah Stratton; her husband Howard Hancock; and her sister Helen Smith. She is survived by: her son Rick McCarty (Vicki); and her nieces and nephews, Alan, Delza and Paul.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests charitable donations in Virginia's honor be made to a charity of choice.
