He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joyce; his sister Beverly; his son Ryan (Alison); his siblings, Allan (Sharon) and Joan (James); his brother-in-law Rod; his grandchildren, Caroline and Jack; and his parents, Stanley Szymanski and Florence Szymanski. He was also cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, family and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to Cancer Support Community Central Ohio c/o The Robert and Joyce Szymanski Empowerment Fund, a fund established in their honor to help others as they deal with cancer.
