He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Edward Briggs Sr. and Geneva Peek Briggs; his wife Robin E. Spurlock Briggs; his sister Patricia Goding; and his pet Buddy.
He is survived by: his children, Athena Rhea Briggs, John Kevin Briggs Jr. and Chris Briggs; and his siblings, Janet Rinkes, Kim Schilling and Chuck Briggs.
