He was predeceased by : his mother Alliene Shelton; his brothers, Lloyd Bud Owens and James Everett Owens; his former life partner Pamela Marie Owens; and his granddaughter Nakilia Dale.

He is survived by : his father Ellis Owens; his wife Stephanie Owens; his children, Amanda Sue Owens, Angela Fry (Anthony), Lisa York (Adam Barker), Janetta Ewing (Michael), Cheryl Clarkson and Timothy York (Cynthia); and his stepchildren, Alexandra Mossbarger, Mark Mossbarger, Jacob Dyess and Nathan Leech. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.
