He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Cornette and Edna Cornette (Bell Moore); and his daughter Freda M. Helwig. He is survived by: his daughters, Brenda Dotson and Barbara Hoffman; his grandchildren, Jeremy Dotson (Nita), Stephanie Kelly (Joe), Allison Henderson (Will), Alexander Hoffman (Megan), Madison C. Hoffman, Lauren Biggs (H. G.), Zachariah Cornette, Harold Helwig and William Helwig; his wife Gladys Cornette; and his son William "Billy" E. Cornette. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Boyer Funeral Home (125 W 2nd St, Waverly, OH 45690). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
