He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Phillips and Mamie Singleton Phillips Davis; his former wife Mary Ellen Wesley Phillips; his siblings, Cathrine Prevo (Pedro), Mary Louise Prevo (Ollie), John Davis Jr. (Dorothy), Patricia McCollugh, Loretta Harmon (Lee), Elizabeth Harris (Elijah), Melvin Phillips (Gwendolyn) and Margaret Palmer (David); and his stepson Carl Adams.
He is survived by: his wife Nazamovia Adams Phillips of Canton; his children, Mable Sargent (John), William B. Phillips Jr. (Dorothy), Leonard and Ronald; his stepchildren, Marcia Adams, Ameila Adams, Eric Adams (Dorinda), Margaret Adams, Cara Harris (Robert) and Ernest Adams (Geoff); and his siblings, Luke Davis, Barbara Aden (Benjamin), Yvonne Jackson (John) and Samuel Phillips (Elaine). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, church members, and friends.
