He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Hayden Cotter and Edna Cotter; his wife Alice Joan; his daughter Colleen Cotter; his granddaughter Michelle Rayner; his sister Mary Agnes Bowne (Robert); his sisters-in-law, Bernice Bolek and Rita Koudelka (Robert); and his daughter Ann Catherine (Glenn).
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in Donald Cotter's name to the International Literacy Association, honoring how much he valued learning.
