He is survived by : his wife Laurie Manning (Laemmle); his sons, Michael Manning (Bethany) and Nick Manning; his stepchildren, James Smock and Elena Reckner (Jacob); his grandchildren, Vincent Reckner, Keegan Reckner, Eli Reckner, Josephine Manning and Waylon Manning; his sister Tonya Hunley (Jim); his niece Allie Monst (Matt); his nephew David Ogden; and his siblings-in-law, Mike Laemmle (Sherry), Mark Laemmle (Lynn), Vicki Rockhold, Danny Laemmle (Cindy), Mary Schaub, Anne Laemmle, Barb Robinson and Richie Laemmle. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and several cousins.

“Jane and I offer our deepest sympathy during this time of grief. As his uncle, my memories of John are mainly of his childhood days. I have a wonder photo of John and I before my deployment to Vietnam. I remember him riding horses and then later in life going into construction. Sadly, living in Australia, I never had the opportunity to know him as a man. Words cannot express our sorry at the loss of John and our hearts are with you during this sad time. May God bless you.
