He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond M. Smith and Eva Marie Smith (Purdon); and his father-in-law Grover Houchins. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Smith (Houchins-Aldo); his children, Scott Smith of Florida, Jim Smith (Lori) of Indian Lake, Betty Jo "B. J." Joiner (Greg) of Bellefontaine, Jeff Aldo (Abby) of Columbus and Todd Aldo (April) of Bellefontaine; his grandchildren, Heather, Brittaney, Jessica, Dani, Ashley, Shelby, Shannon, Quincy, Kayla, Maverick, Jayden, Chloe, Tyler and Madison; his siblings, Peggy Hostetler and Greg Smith; and his mother-in-law Ethel Houchins of Bellefontaine. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
