She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles William and Alpha Laverne Sams (Statesel); her husband James "Jim" A. Gilliam Sr.; and her siblings, Marie Stout (John), Alpha Johns, Charles Sams (Sandra), Glenna Mullins (Paul), Earl Sams (Florence), Louis Sams and Gary Sams.
She is survived by: her children, James A. Gilliam Jr. (Louise), Mark W. Gilliam (Jodi), Cathy S. Grove and Cheryl A. Merritt; her sibings, Frank Sams (Dorothy), John Sams (Gerry) and Rita Wechter (Tom); and her sisters-in-law, Karen Sams and Donna Sams. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Meadow Green Funeral Home & Cemetery (2602 Bogart Rd, Huron, OH 44839). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
