He was predeceased by : his mother Juanita Murphy of Clarksburg. He is survived by : his wife Mary Murphy; his daughter Cindy Murphy of Aurora, WV.; his father Orla Murphy; and his sisters, Zanza Murphy and Bonnie Muniz.

He requested that friends and family not send flowers but donate to a charity of their choice in his name.
