He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Carpenter and Clara Carpenter. He is survived by: his sister Janet Richardson of Belpre; his wife Ruth Carpenter (Carmichael); his children, Jill Christian (Jeff), Jay Carpenter (Kathy) and Karen Parks (Bob); and his grandchildren, Nicole Joy (Greg), Lauren Lewis (Logan), Lindsey Pugh (Preston), Jenna Lucas (Preston), Michelle Church (John) and Matt Huxley. He is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
