He was predeceased by: his parents, George L. Cowell and Lois Breckenridge Cowell; and his siblings, George and Sally. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Spencer Cowell; his children, Caroline Cowell Segelken (John), Lloyd D. Cowell Jr. (Anne) and Christopher G. Cowell (Cheryl); his grandchildren, Abigail Segelken, Jack Segelken (Joanna), Ethan Shay-Cowell, Aaron Shay-Cowell, Lucas Cowell and Dennis Cowell; and his great grandchild Noah Segelken.
