He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Sams and Freda Sams; his wife Nancy M. Sams (Brown); and his brothers, Gary and Erroll Sams.
He is survived by: his daughters, Pamela Mick (Robert) of Stokesdale, NC, Cathie Cooper (John) of Cincinnati, OH and Michelle Swick (David) of Wilmington, NC; and his sister Debbie Reed (Dave) of The Villages, FL.. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
