He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry D. Dellinger and Lula Lyons Dellinger; his former wife Edith Wilson Dellinger; his sons, Charles and William David; his granddaughter Candace Gant; and his siblings, Virginia Brown, Garnet White, Anna Dellinger and Chester D. Dellinger Sr..

He is survived by: his wife Judith Dellinger; his sons, James and Richard (Connie); his stepdaughter Laura Jarrett (Brad); and his grandchildren, Christopher (Christina), Steven, Michelle, Jason and Stephanie. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
