He was predeceased by: his parents, Forest (Canter) and Francis "Dink" Canter; his brother Fred Canter; his great grandchild Joshua Smith; and his friend Joe Wilson.
He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Smith (Scott) and Jay Canter; his close friend Dianna Canter; his grandchildren, Erin Petrie (Paul), Ryan Canter (Elizabeth) and Danielle Boehm (Brandon); and his great grandchildren, Blake, Brody, Avery, Payton, Paisley, Camrie, Hazel, Harper and Cora.
Jim was a barber for 60 years retiring due to Covid.
