He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Burkholder and Rhoda Burkholder (Amstutz); and his siblings, Evan Burkholder, Sylvan Burkholder and Mabel Howard.
He is survived by: his sister Barbara Wehrly of Oro Valley, Arizona; his sibling's children, Sondra Braun of Bluffton, Kathy Lehman (Larry) of Pandora, Lisa Kerner of Sherman Oaks, California and David Wehrly (Irene) of Tucson; and his great-niece Michelle Pane (Nathan) of Massachusetts.
