She was predeceased by: her parents, Merritt Hatch and Margret Hatch (Breitigam); her husband David W. "Doc" Nielsen M. D.; her son Kevin M. Bly; her siblings, Joyce Putnam, Ronald Hatch and David Hatch; and her former husband Albert "Doyle" Bly.
She is survived by: her children, Karen Weitz (Dan) of Lima and Greg Bly (Carolyn) of Waynesfield; her stepsons, Jeff Nielsen of Sandusky and Jay Nielsen (Jan) of Perrysburg; her grandchildren, William J. "Billy Jo" Bly (Diana), Tim Weitz, Laura Butcher (Brandon), Brandon Bly and Jarrod Bly; and her great grandchildren, Emma, Evan, Elliana and Aleda. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, the Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton, or the Lima Memorial Foundation - LMH Nursing Alumnae.
