He was predeceased by : his father Robert Eugene. He is survived by : his wife Susan; his sons, Nate Gatchel of Bluffton and Nick Gatchel (Trisha) of Bluffton; his grandchildren, Aubreanna, Ellieanna, Haleigh, Genevieve, Xandra Gatchel, Braeden Jordan and Blayne Hill; his sibling Chris Bricely (Jim) of Tucson, AZ; and his grandchildren, Janice William (Jeff) of Naples, FL, Rob Gatchel (Jeanie) of Tiffin, OH, Jimmy Gatchel of Morral, OH and Lyle Gatchel (JoEllen) of Nevada, OH..

Memorial contributions may be given to Rockport United Methodist Church.
