She was predeceased by : her parents, Max Stites and Jane Steele Stites; her spouse Jerry L. Harrod; and her daughter Pamela Steinke. She is survived by : her sons, Mark Harrod of Indian Lake, OH and Neil Harrod (Lisa Overholser) of Sidney, OH; her grandchildren, Tracey (Brian), Ryan, Elliott, Carley, Jay (Kat), Kenlee and Katheryn; her great grandchildren, Adriana, Caelynn, Jackson, Kehlani and Andrew; her siblings, Charles Stites of Charlottesville, VA, Jane Raeuchle of Botkins and Bill Raeuchle of Ostrander, OH; and her son-in-law Dave Steinke (Claudia Stites) of Minster, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution are encouraged to be given in Carolyn's name to St. Paul Lutheran Church, and for people to perform random acts of kindness for others.
