He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Platfoot and Wilma Platfoot (Boeke) of Anna, Ohio.; his siblings, Betty Harshbarger and Bill Platfoot; his brothers-in-law, Roy Lea, Terry Billing and Doug Bisher; and his mother-in-law Doris Bornhorst.

He is survived by: his wife Joyce Platfoot (Bornhorst); his children, Keith, Erin Platfoot of Roswell, GA, Tami, Alan Russell of Piqua, Kim, Ben Uhlenhake of Coldwater, Jenny, Aaron Alig of Coldwater and Melanie; his in-laws, Tom Pestak of Xenia, Regina, Steven Schulze of Russia, Karrie, Jason Buehler of Anna, Kevin, Olivia Platfoot of Botkins, Nathan and Erin Platfoot of Russia; his grandsons, Connor and Elijah Platfoot; his in-laws, Dean, Juliet Russell, Austin, Courtney, Carson, Gavin, Mason Uhlenhake, Audrey of Abby, AJ, Ryan, Rudy, Zach, Zane, Gabe Alig, Gwendolyn, Catherine, John, Joseph, Thomas, Brendan Pestak, Gianna, Hannah, Greta, Isaiah, Micah Schulze, Lindsey, Roman, Zoey, Luke Buehler, Alyssa, Xavier, Isaac, Noah Platfoot, Lauren, Collin and Liam Platfoot; his father-in-law Raymond Bornhorst; and his siblings-in-law, Phyllis Lea, John, Rosey Platfoot, Diane Billing, Connie Bisher, Duane Platfoot, Sharon, Rick Staley, Steve Platfoot, Henry Harshbarger, Angie Platfoot, Ron, Diane Bornhorst, Lisa, Russ Slonecker, Marci, Jim Langenkamp, Kelly and Gary Schmitmeyer. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the N. J. Hogenkamp Sons, Inc. (61 S Hanover St, Minster, OH 45865-1233). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (116 N Mill St, Botkins, OH 45306). A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Saint Lawrence Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Holy Face of Jesus Parish or Mass stipends. Donations in his memory can be made at https://holyfaceparish.org.
