He was predeceased by: his siblings, Nancy Lucas, Donald, Chuck, Albert, Pete, Bill and Jim Hartzell; and his stepsons, Gary Smith and Jim Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Georgia Lynn Hartzell (Sanders); his children, Randy (Monina Hartzell), Robert "Bob" (Charlene Hartzell) and Brenda (Kent Canan); his grandchildren, Bryan Hartzell (Tina), Hailey Best (Andy), Kent Jr. "Douglas" Canan (Tiara), Dylan Canan (Taylor), Chelsea Jackson (Michael), Amy Freer (Evan), Parker Smith (Kennedy), Ramse Smith and Alexa Hartzell; his siblings, Steve Hartzell (Nancy) of Greenville, Dorie Tobe of Greenville and Mary Addis (Don) of Greenville; and his sister-in-law Charlene Hartzell of Greenville. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home (131 W Oakwood St, Bradford, OH 45308). A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Gettysburg Cemetery.
