He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Delbert Wesley Sterling and Elsie Louise Sterling (Pyle); his wife Mildred A. Sterling (Cain); his siblings, Alvin J. Sterling, Margaret Smith (Paul), Ethel McHugh (Donald), Alice Moore (Charles) and Wilma Frazer (Stewart); and his daughter-in-law Jane Sterling (Green).
He is survived by: his sons, Lawrence E. Sterling (Sharon Weldon) of Brilliant, OH, Roger D. Sr. Sterling (Susan) of Franklin, WV, Gilbert L. Sterling (Lola) of Brilliant, OH and Norman L. Sterling (Joyce) of Brilliant, OH. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Wheeler Funeral Homes (712 3rd St, Brilliant, OH 43913). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington DC 20090-6011.
