He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Everett E. Smith and Helen J. Smith (Bailey); his wife Patricia H. Smith (Bowser); his children, Christine Smith-Jackson, Juanita Dafler (Gary) and Wesley Smith (Michelle); his grandchildren, Noah Jackson (Mikaela), Marie Lowther (Jason), Andrew Dafler (Sarah), Joy Slaney (Alex), Kaela, Elizabeth and Madison Smith; his great grandchildren, Nova Jackson, June, Avery Dafler, Gideon Lowther and Silas Lowther; and his siblings, Sylvia Evans (Joe), Janet Hesseman (Harry) and Mark Smith (Josephine). He was also cherished by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Basore Road Grace Brethren Church or Miami Valley Crisis Pregnancy Center.
