He is survived by: his wife Linda Meyer (Sumerauer); his sister Ingelore (late Jerry); his brother-in-law Walter Sumerauer (Tracy); and his children, Karl Meyer (Laura), Nathaniel (Ashley), Victoria (Jackson), Jarred, Nicholas (Courtney), Samantha (Dave), Amanda (Matt) and Carl (Jessica). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Claus' name to Royal Redeemer Lutheran Church or The Hospice of Western Reserve.
