He is survived by: his children, Gene Wells, Jr. (Tonya), Denise Wells, Joe Wells (Cathy) and James Hjort (Michele); his grandchildren, Edker Venoy, Jr., Clifford Wells, Mariah Smith and Nathaniel Wells; and his great grandchildren, Lucas Payne and Olivia Payne. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
