He was predeceased by: his parents, Johann Dill and Karolina Dill; his wife Magdalena; and his siblings, Ewald, Johann, Erwin, Alma Hempel (Oswald) and Erna Rein (Ferdinand).
He is survived by: his children, Walter Jr. Dill, Manfred Dill (Susan) and Linda Goodhart (Dennis II); his grandchildren, Jessica, Steven, Eric, Alaina and Dennis III; his brother Julius Dill (Almut); and his sisters-in-law, Wanda and Bertha. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Valley City.
