He was predeceased by: his parents, William F. Boettler and Frances Boettler; his wife Violet; his children, Ionia Boettler, Joseph Boettler and Clifford Boettler; his granddaughter Laura Skalak; and his sister Pearl Hrush.

He is survived by: his children, Dorothy Skalak (Larry), Cecelia Boettler and William Boettler; his grandson Matthew Skalak; and his brothers, Robert and Albert Boettler.
