She was predeceased by: her parents, George Obenland and Ethel Obenland (Elser); her husband James L. Cooper; her granddaughter Janet Anderson; and her sisters, Thelma Sponseller and Janice Harter.

She is survived by: her children, Cory Cooper (James) of Montpelier, OH, Kris Rosebrock of Pioneer, OH, Jamie Strahm (Jacob) of Lebanon, OH and Robert Cooper (Deborah) of Bryan, OH; her grandchildren, Jeremy, April, Travis, Matt, Jacob, Sidney and Tyler; and her great grandchildren, Samantha, Mara and Jaylyn.

Memorial contributions may be made in Ellen's memory to St. John Lutheran Church or to the Fountain Park Activity Fund.
