He was predeceased by : his parents, Howard Rettig and Marvel Rettig (Engel); his son Mark Rettig; and his granddaughter Venessa Kemarly. He is survived by : his wife Sue E. Martin (McCage) of Bryan, Ohio; and his children, Sherri Hanna of Jackson, Holli Kemarly of Liberty, Kelli Gross (Shawn) of Monclova, Laurel Clark (Dewayne) of West Unity, Kristin Bodle (Jason) of Springfield, Paul Martin of Maumee, Joseph Martin (Terri) of Pioneer, Kerre Bogard (Paul) of Ooltewah and Jonathan Martin (Rebecca) of Claremont, Florida.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home - Lynn Street Chapel (206 N Lynn St, Bryan, OH 43506). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at the Floral Grove Cemetery.
