He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellsworth Gearhart and Hazel Gearhart (Doty). He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Whitney (Kay); his daughters, Sue Held (Lyle) of Bryan, OH and Sandi Briner (Sean) of San Diego, CA; his grandchildren, Deiter Held (Brittany), Danae Polley (Michael), Darcie Altimus (Jeremy), Dailyn Reese (Logan), Jakob Briner and Caden Briner; his great grandchildren, Camden, Easton, Nolan Held, Katelyn, Eli Polley, Caycie, Conley, Codie Coy, Leah, Olivia and Lucas Reese; his siblings, Steven Gearhart (Nan) of Beaufort, SC, Darlene Burkhardt (George) of Edon, OH, Kathleen Meroney (Lanny) of Ligonier, IN and Luanne Gearhart (John Sanford) of Mentor, OH; his siblings-in-law, Donald Whitney (Pat Dillon) of Edon, OH, Duane Whitney (Susan Kimple) of Edon, OH, Maxine Bryner of Hessel, MI and Deb Tassier of Cedarville, MI; and his aunt Judy Husted (Jim) of Rock Hill, SC. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Krill Funeral Service - Bryan (860 W Mulberry St, Bryan, OH 43506). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Lick Creek Church of the Brethren (1500 Center St, Bryan, OH 43506).
