It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Nancy C. Bates of Bryan, Ohio, who passed away on November 11, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gerald C. and Mary C. Fleming (Rice); her brother-in-law Paul Overmyer; Richard Birkhold. She is survived by: her husband Steven K. Bates of Bryan; her children, Kara Bates of Bryan, Amanda Kane (Billy) of Fairview Park, Steven M. Bates (Anushka Wickramaratne) of Silver Spring and Andrew Bates (Kaiti) of Strongsville, Ohio; her grandchildren, Emma, Anna and Evan; and her siblings, Peggy Overmyer of Stow and Tom Fleming (Twyla) of Delaware, Ohio.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 21st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home (206 N Lynn St, Bryan, OH 43506). A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 21st 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
In honor of Nancy's spirit of caregiving and love of animals, memorial contributions can be directed to Open Hands Caring Hearts Food Pantry, or to the Williams County Humane Society.
