He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert H. Berning, and Dena Berning, Sr. (Nordman); and his sisters, Carol Berning and Katie Allmiller. He is survived by: his wife Sandra K. Detwiler of Bryan; and his sister Marge Gevers (Paul) of Fort Wayne.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to the Williams County Public Library, Bryan Branch, or the Williams County Humane Society.
