He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Russ and Berta Russ (Markin); his siblings, Harry Gene Russ, Ralph "Red" Russ, Violet Russ and Shirley Russ; and his in-laws, Harold and Esta Eulett.

He is survived by: his wife Jane Russ; his daughters, Aubrey Mason (Kevin) and Lisa Hughes (Roy); his grandchildren, Ethan, Hughes, Aiden Mason, Gracie Mason, Olivia Mason and Addison Mason; his brother-in-law Pat Eulett (Gwen); and his niece Pam Cooperider (Jerry).
