With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Derek J. Riels of Bucyrus, Ohio, who passed away on November 12, 2023 at the age of 36. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his father Roy Duane Staats; and his grandparents, Tommy Staats, Gracie Dalton and Steve Osborne. He is survived by : his mother Beatrice Riels (Osborne); his sons, Duane Riels and Brady Riels; his siblings, David Riels, David Staats and Aimee Baker; and his grandmother Sandy Staats. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Family asks memorials be made to his children through his brother David Riels.
