He was predeceased by: his parents, James H. Groves and Viola Groves (Kirkham); his children, Donna Mollenkopf and Clifton Groves; and his brothers, Alton, Harlan and Merle Groves.
He is survived by: his children, Jessie Bassett (Mike), Connie Groves and Freddie Groves; and his sister Peggy Ruth (Russell). He is also survived by four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great-great grandson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:55 AM at the Wise Funeral Service (129 W Warren St, Bucyrus, OH 44820). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions are encouraged to be made payable to Bucyrus Alliance Church and given through the funeral home.
