He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Parker and Vina M. Platt (Porter); his brother John Platt; and his brother-in-law Doug Hedrick. He is survived by: his wife Mary Platt (White); his stepchildren, Nora Lee Platt of Rawson, OH, Bob Platt of Las Vegas, NV, Jennifer Cromwell, III (Rob) of Powell, OH, Terry Adams (Courtney) of North Bend, WA, Shelly Niese (Rick) of Crestline, OH, Kristina Hedge (Terry) of Las Vegas, NV, Heather Platt Zeisloft of Las Vegas, NV and Wendy Johnson (Warren) of Delaware, OH.; his siblings, Pat Swinehart and Jim Platt; and his siblings-in-law, Sue Platt, Ann Hedrick, Gene White (Judy), Roger White (Joan) and Susan Rabold (Jim). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Wise Funeral Service (129 W Warren St, Bucyrus, OH 44820). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Bucyrus United Methodist Church (227 S Walnut St, Bucyrus, OH 44820).
