He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Johnson and Lucinda "Litteral" Johnson; his siblings, Hershell Johnson, Fredia Johnson, Maggie E. Johnson and Helen Johnson; his grandchildren, Eddie Young and Addison Lawrence; and his daughter-in-law Kristina Johnson.

He is survived by: his wife LouAnn Johnson; his children, Janice Young (Robert), Danny Johnson (Juanita), Randy Johnson (Beth), Pete Johnson, Shelly Park, Justen Johnson (Denielle) and Crystal Shuster (Wesley); and his brothers, Garland Johnson (Terry) and Henry Johnson (Wanda). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Freewill Baptist or Tabernacle of Praise.
