He was predeceased by : his sons, Martin Keith Vanek Jr. and Nicholas Zachary Vanek. He is survived by : his parents, George Vanek and Carmella Vanek; his wife Tracey Meyer-Vanek; his children, Jonathon Long, Brandi Vanek and Zach Vanek; and his grandson Austin Long.

Memorials may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital.

“I am saddened to hear of Uncle Marty's passing. Though we aren't as close as we were when we were younger, I remember all of the good times. The sleepovers, the haunted houses, the fishing trips, wrestling with Uncle Joe in Grandma's living room. There isn't anything you wouldn't do for family. I will miss you greatly. Eric”
