George White Sr. Obituary
We announce the death of George White Sr. of Burton, Ohio, born in Miami, Florida, who passed away on August 30, 2026, at the age of 82. George will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Graydon White and June White; his brother Elton White; and his foster brother Willie. He is survived by: his wife Esther White (Leleszi); his children, George White, Jr., Chrissy Platek (Jon) and Jeremy White (Sabrina); his grandchildren, Summer, George III and Sienna White; his children, Christian, Gavin, London Grace Platek, Graydon, Oliver Cash, Noel and Declan White; his brother Terry James White; and his nieces and nephews, Terry, Chad, Timmy, Justin, Schuyler White, Tanya Hyland, Breann Zapytowski and Caleigh Garcia. He is also survived by extended family members and many dear friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Sly Family Funeral Home (15670 W High St, Middlefield, OH 44062). A masonic service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 8:30 PM at the same location. A celebration of life was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Chardon Methodist Church (515 North St, Chardon, OH 44024).
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor George's memory may make a memorial contribution to The Great Geauga County Fair, recognizing his decades of service, his love for the fair, and his lifelong commitment to the community he was so proud to call home.
