James W. Bateman Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James W. Bateman of Cadiz, Ohio, who passed away on July 4, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Bateman and Magdalena Degerhardt Bateman; his wife Norma K. Lockhart Bateman; his daughter Linda Mae Bateman Landis; and his siblings, William, Edward, John, Anna Mae, Louise, Mary Mabel, Edith and Betty.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Jo Fisher (Robert) of Jewett, Jimmy Bateman (Louise) of Steubenville and Robin Martin of Circleville; and his grandchildren, Joseph Landis (Tami), Amy Jo Howell (Jared), Kathryn Caldwell, Joshua Martin (Emily), Christine Oxley (Jason) and Betty Jean Hodgkiss (Jamie). He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, July 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home (172 S Main St, Cadiz, OH 43907). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
