Joan left this world on August 18, 2025 at the age of 94, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Cletia Stephens Atwell and Charles Roy Stephens; her husband Walter Chesla; her siblings, Dora Campise, Richard Stephens and James Stephens; and her nephew Kerry Campise.
She is survived by: her children, Sylvia Chesla Bower (Robert) of Hilliard and Stephen Chesla (Sandy) of Jewett; her grandchildren, Amber Chesla (Michelle), Leigh Bower, Jill Wagner (Brent), Justin Chesla and Julia Chesla; and her great grandchildren, Penelope Snodgrass and Brynley Wagner. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews; as well as her caring neighbors for whom her family.
