He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry Jewell and Catherine J. Wade (Coleman); the mother of his children Nancy Jewell (Grindstaff); and his siblings, Betty Martin, Marilee Glover, Bill Jewell and Edward R. Jewell.
He is survived by: his sister Alice LaFollette of Cambridge; and his children, Cathy Strasser (Steve), Candace Robson and Gene Jewell Jr. (Denise). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
