He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gibson and Olga Gibson (Dunning); his wife Shirley Gibson; and his siblings, Bill, Richard Gibson, Helen Campbell, Elizabeth Mooney and Edith Ann Simpson.

He is survived by: his sons, Jim Gibson (Trudy) of Cambridge and Tom Gibson of Bellevue, OH; his grandchildren, Jason Gibson (Kim) of Bremerton, WA, Briana Vineyard of Bladensburg, OH, Sarah Gibson of Chicago, IL and Katie Gibson of Punta Gorda, FL; his great grandchildren, Ashley Gibson of Jacksonville Beach, FL, Lilly Vineyard of Bladensburg, Isaac Vineyard of Bladensburg, OH., Maia Vineyard of Bladensburg, OH. and Madelyn Vineyard of Bladensburg, OH.; and his siblings, Tom Gibson of Pekin, IL and Susie Gibson of Cambridge. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
