He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thorpe and Ellen Thorpe (Dickey); his daughter Susan Salsgiver; and his siblings, Barbara Sabo, Nancy Salsgiver, John and Donald Thorpe.

He is survived by: his daughters, Donna Thorpe of Campbell and Bonnie Leigh (Jim) of Warren; and his great-nephews, Matthew Bennett of Campbell and Kyle Thorpe of Campbell.
