He was predeceased by: his father Paul Burkhart; his stepfather Leonard Minyo; and his former wife Karen Burkhart. He is survived by: his wife Claudia Burkhart; his mother Rita Minyo; his sister Lisa Shriver (Gary); his sibling's children, Matthew Kauffman and Michelle Shriver; and his cousin Claudia.

Visitation was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home - Canal Winchester (650 W Waterloo St, Canal Winchester, OH 43110). A funeral service was held on Friday, July 11th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
